Abramson Senior Care COVID-19 Updates

Wednesday October 28, 2020

December 11, 2020

As we continue into this winter season, we want to take a moment to reassure all of our patients, clients and their loved ones that we remain diligent in our efforts to keep our employees and those in our care safe and healthy. No matter what, we remain committed to providing the high-quality care expected from Abramson Senior Care so that seniors and their loved ones continue to receive uninterrupted medical care and support.

Every day we take a number of precautions to make sure that we mitigate any potential spread of COVID-19, including daily screening of employees for possible symptoms or exposure. Additionally, all employees are required to wear a surgical mask at all times and appropriate personal protective equipment when providing care.

Some measures we have put in place in our community services are:

  • Routine COVID-19 testing for community employees.
  • Ongoing staff training regarding infection control and CDC guidance and safety protocols.
  • Virtual appointments where appropriate.
  • Offering Zoom support groups, and activities such as yoga, meditation and musical performances to keep our clients socially connected and active.

Patients at Birnhak Transitional Care at Lankenau Medical Center can rest assured knowing that we are:

  • Following all State and Federal mitigation guidance.
  • Routinely testing employees and screening each employee at the start of his/her shift.
  • Testing all patients in accordance with the current CDC and Department of Health guidelines.
  • Practicing social distancing in our therapy gyms by reducing the number of people in the room at any one time. When appropriate, therapy is offered in-room.
  • Providing personal activity packets and one-on-one recreational programs instead of group gatherings.
  • Offering in-room dining only.
  • At times when visitation is restricted, we offer Zoom or FaceTime calls so that patients can stay connected to their loved ones during their stay.

While we are taking all necessary precautions, we know that the risk of COVID-19 is never zero. If any employee becomes ill, they are required to quarantine in accordance with current healthcare guidelines.

Your health is our number one priority. We are here for you, please call 215.371.3400 should you have any questions regarding our COVID mitigation procedures.

Thank you for choosing Abramson Senior Care for your health care needs.
