Abramson Center Honors Nursing Assistant for Exceptional Care

Tuesday August 29, 2017

Nakia Webb, certified nursing assistant (second from right) is congratulated on receiving the 2017 Phyllis Abramson Licht (PAL) Award for providing exceptional care to seniors at the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life from Jeffrey Licht, Abramson Center trustee; Valerie Palmieri, chief operating officer; and Dr. Stuart Licht, the award’s sponsor.

The award, which includes a cash gift and a luncheon held in the recipient’s honor, was established in 2004 by Dr. Licht to honor the memory of his late wife, Phyllis Abramson Licht, who appreciated the respectful care she received from healthcare workers as she faced terminal illness. It is presented each year on or close to August 24th, the late Mrs. Licht’s birthday, to a nursing assistant who demonstrates excellence in providing compassionate and skilled care to the residents of the Abramson Center for Jewish Life.

Ms. Webb has been a resident care associate at the Abramson Center for 14 years. She was nominated by her co-workers for her gentleness, patience, compassion, and willingness to help out wherever she is needed.
