Abramson Center Residents Celebrate Confirmation

Abramson Center for Jewish Life residents, family members, volunteers and staff gathered together on Sunday, June 12^th to celebrate as 10 Abramson Center residents celebrated graduating from an adult confirmation and leadership program.    

For 18 months, the confirmands studied twice a month with Rabbi Joshua Zlochower, director of chaplaincy services, and Rabbi Erica Steelman, staff chaplain, volunteer Lem Tarshis, Ph.D., and other rabbis and Jewish scholars from the greater Philadelphia region.

“The Abramson Center and visiting rabbis, through lectures and discussions, made it possible for each of us to increase our knowledge of our Jewish identity and understand why it is so valuable,” said resident Larry Manoff.
