Abramson Center Volunteers and Residents Give Back for the Holidays

Friday December 9, 2016

Abramson Center residents and members of the Abramson Center’s Auxiliary gathered on Wednesday, December 7th to wrap 18 gift baskets and make holiday cards for sick children staying at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.

Now in its fifth year, the gift wrapping event is sponsored by the Auxiliary whose volunteers shop for coloring books, crayons, fuzzy socks, stuffed animals and other toys to put in the baskets. The goodies are then arranged alongside blankets and hats knitted by the Center’s Resident Knitting Club and wrapped with a big bow.

A volunteer will later deliver the gifts to the Ronald McDonald House.

“This is our favorite event year after year because we get to work with the residents of the Abramson Center to give back to the community,” says Margie Actman, Auxiliary member and organizer of the event. “It is so heart-warming and special.”
