Contessa Boucicaut, certified nursing assistant (second from right) is congratulated on receiving the 2015 Phyllis Abramson Licht (PAL) Award for providing exceptional care to seniors at the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life from Dr. Stuart Licht, the award’s sponsor; Carol A. Irvine, president and CEO; and Jeffrey Licht, Abramson Center trustee.
The award, which includes a cash gift and a luncheon held in the recipient’s honor, was established in 2004 by Dr. Licht to honor the memory of his late wife, Phyllis Abramson Licht, who appreciated the respectful care she received from healthcare workers as she faced terminal illness. It is presented each year on or close to August 24th, the late Mrs. Licht’s birthday, to a nursing assistant who demonstrates excellence in providing compassionate and skilled care to the residents of the Abramson Center for Jewish Life.
Ms. Boucicaut has been a resident care associate at the Abramson Center for eight years. She was nominated for the award by her co-workers who praised her positivity, compassion and helpful friendly manner.
